Continuity of government
involves the planning for and the development of operating procedures
to preserve the structure of government itself and develop a viable response
capability to support the community in the event of a major emergency.
This course is designed
to provide State and local emergency managers with an understanding of
the concept of Continuity of Government (COG) and the seven preparedness/planning
elements necessary for State and local governments to carry out their
executive, legislative, and judicial functions under emergency conditions.
