COURSE GOAL To prepare response personnel and other responsible professionals to handle a mass fatalities incident effectively by properly caring for the dead and the living-both responders and survivors. This course was released Emergency Management Institute, National Emergency Training Center, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Emmitsburg, Maryland September 1998. This course as taught in a classroom will take approximately 16.5 hours. PARTICIPANT QUALIFICATIONS This course is designed for a wide audience, encompassing the range of personnel with a role to play in a mass fatalities incident. The following list of potential target audience members is provided to illustrate the diversity of those who would benefit from this course.
NOTE: Text descriptions replace the graphic photos included in the original course. There are six units and four appendices associated with this course. The course files are less than 1.5 megabytes for the benefit of low bandwidth (14.4 and 28.8 modem) users. The naming protocol is EM386.exe, EM386append.exe, and EM386_Append4.pdf. Graphics may not be optimum in these documents due to originals and file size considerations. Upon receiving your paid registration, we will send you the password to open these. We recommend you print out the pages as you need them and keep them as a paper reference. The test is taken online. When you pass the test, you will be mailed a certificate of completion. The final exam is 31 questions taken from the reading material. You may use any of the materials while taking the test.
